    Hi

About a little less then a year ago I had a major mental breakdown. I felt disconnected and was seeking death. I got very depresssed. I lost my sense of direction sense of clarity … I am  still suffering from it. I am like lifeless now. All around me I see people successful and I am going crazy. I am on anti depressants.

I need alot of support for this if anyone can help or if anyone else had gone through the same thing.

    Thank you in advance!

    @yosp123,

im so sorry for what you went through and for the difficulties you’re facing now. I wish I had more to offer, but the only thing that’s coming to mind is to never give up!! The day will come when you reach the other side. It will take time and effort, but it’ll all be worth it. Another point I want to mention is that every single person has something to contribute to the world and so do you 🙂 it’s okay if you don’t feel so alive now. With time, you will come out the other side!!

I do want to comment on your statement of seeing people being successful. I also used to think that everyone’s lives are perfect, more stable and better than mine. And I still think like that. But I came to realize that EVERYONE has something no matter how picture perfect they may look. Everyone is challenged in different areas.

Hang in there and please do not give up!! You have a LOT to offer 🙂

Building a support team takes time, courage and hard work. You can do it!

Are you seeing a therapist and psychiatrist consistently?

Both are a must and a first step!

I am seeing both now and I don’t feel they are helping much

I’ve been to 5 Yeshiva’s 5 different jobs and I saw like 10 therapists and now I had a mental breakdown 9 months ago so I just feel a failure and hopeless like my life is over

I want to build a support group on this chat

if anyone can give me strength to continue …

Life is meant to be beautiful, it’s the struggles that we have that makes it seem so bleak. Don’t give up! There is light at the end of the tunnel! Reach out for help and surround yourself with positive people. The more you will interact with people who are happy it will go over to you. Do not isolate yourself. I know it is easier said than done, especially if you are feeling this bleak. But the more you will be in positive company you will see a huge difference.

Good luck on your journey. And remember we each have our struggles. So although it “looks” perfect on the outside, don’t get carried away. If only people out there would be more honest and real about themselves so many of us wouldn’t have this extra sadness of feeling so alone.

Ty very much yes life is a roller coaster I am learning from other people and seeing that I’m not the only one on a roller coaster

    Hello Yosp123,

Your honesty and see for respite is truly admirable. Trying to build an online support group can be very encouraging and helpful, but it should not take the place of a proper face to face support group. You mentioned you had worked with a number of professionals, but it does not seem that you connected with any one of them. Finding the right professional can take time, but it is worth the continued effort. It also seems like you may benefit from a proper support group and/or group therapy environment which meets weekly. Regardless of the community you live in, you should be able to find something near you that fits your need. I’d be happy to give you more specific resources if you would like to PM me.

Keep pushing forward and you will begin to see the respite you are looking for,
    Chaya

You are definitely not alone. So many people are struggling immensely emotionally. Emotional things can be hidden. I can attest to that.

In response to chayasatt's post #6770:

yes I would definitely want a support group do you know of any in Lakewood ?

Hi Yosp123, like I others I want to commend your courage in opening up about your struggles that at times feel hopeless.

Like Chaya said having a face-to-face support group, or perhaps joining a DBT group can be very, very helpful in not feeling alone and is a very solid 1st step towards feeling accepted and ultimately in having a goal-oriented life.

There are several great resources in Lakewood, feel free to reach out to any of the admins of this site or I can get you in touch with some.

Wishing you all the best & peace.
