   Individual Inc. said yesterday that it had acquired Freeloader Inc. for
   about $38 million in cash and stock. Freeloader, based in Washington,
   is a personalized news service that retrieves information from the
   Internet's World Wide Web and delivers it to the personal computers of
   subscribers. Individual, based in Burlington, Mass., paid $2 million in
   cash and 1.9 million common shares for all Freeloader stock
   outstanding. Individual's stock fell $1.50 a share, to $15.75, in
   Nasdaq trading. Individual plans to integrate Freeloader's technology
   with its other customized news services.
