I googled something...wrong move
So on my birth month board I saw another mom complaining of certain symptoms. She said her dr wanted her to come in because it might be something serious but she was waiting to see if symptoms subsided. But then another person, who is an ER nurse replied that she should go to ER because it could be a serious condition that can hit some women post partum. She mentioned the condition by name. I knew I shouldn't, but I looked it up. I'm not even going to mention the name here to save you from making my mistake. Apparently, this condition can strike anytime after birth up to 5 months later. Affecting 1 in 1300-4000 mothers. I'm trying to tell myself that im not going to get it because I'm healthy. I've never heard of it before and look at all the people having babies and not having this problem. But I know it's going to be in the back of my anxious mind. What do I do?

I obviously can't respond since Idk what you're talking about lol, but Google is never a good idea, I am bad for that too!

so i googled it and i am guessing it's a heart condition? i was not aware of it before, either. thank God I am 7 mos pp!
I'm going to venture a guess that it's peripartum cardiomyopathy? I don't know what board you're on but I'm on aug 2011, I have cardiomyopathy from my 6 year old though, not this one. I can offer you some practical advice on the subject if you want. I'm super sick (not very many get as sick as I am) but I'm hoping to stave off a transplant for a few more years. Yes it's very scary, but also VERY rare. Try not to worry, I know easier said than done but try :)
I know exactly how you feel. After talking with my sister who is a critical care nurse she suggested that I get checked for this specific issue. I am pretty scared about finding out because I have 3 kids and a severe case of ppd. I don't want to be thinking about anything else. I am going to see my doctor at the end if the month to get some tests done. I pray that I dint have it but if I do then I can at least be ob the road to recovery.
