Bag-a-Cork program will officially cease operations
effective June 30, 2008.
Unfortunately we must announce that the Bag-a-Cork program will officially cease operations effective June 30, 2008. Since launching the program over three years ago the public response has been overwhelming. We have collected over 8 tonnes of natural cork bottle stoppers in a very short period of time and there was a waiting list of locations wanting to host a bin. Girl Guides of Canada, Ontario Council recently made the difficult decision to withdraw from the program as they could not provide the necessary internal resources to effectively manage the complexities of the program We thank everyone involved for all of their support and especially those who donated all their corks.

If you have excess cork you can likely recycle it (check with local waste management practices to determine if through yard waste or recycling bins)

Sincerely,
Bag-a-Cork Founding Partners
