A). LEGAL STUFF
This boss strategy guide belongs to all it's rightful owners, or owner, being

putting your name on it and being all plagiarized-like, then your probably
breaking some legal thing and you may have to suffer a penalty. So, for the
record, I claim all text on this document EXCEPT that weird little symbols
under the title, you can copy those if you'd like. Copyright Joe Amico, Feb.

C). EVASIVE TECHNIQUES
To complete this game, you can't just stand in one place and shoot. Sorry, but
that is not an option in this case. I have created terms for several evasive
maneuvers that will aid you in your success. These techniques are rather
useful, take it from me.

High Jump- This is simply jumping or double jumping in the air. This is useful
to dodge ground quake attacks etc.

Roll- To perform the roll, wait until the boss is about to use a particularly
annoying or hard to block attack. As soon as the boss is preparing, transform
into the morph ball and roll as far away as you can from the enemy. This is
particularly useful against Thardus and the Omega Pirate.

Side Dash (defensive)- To perform the side dash, tap the b button two times
quickly while jamming the joystick right or left. This gives you a quick lunge
to get out of the way. Use the side dash to escape missile attacks or other
projectile launches.

Side Dash (offensive)- Sometimes, when you lock on to an enemy, if you
repeatedly side dash and side dash, you start to circle around your enemy.
This is useful to hit and scratch those hard to reach places, and it gives you
more speed to knock down the satellite dishes in Flahgra's battle. This is
also useful to hit Thardus and Omega Pirate in their specific weak areas.

Dodge+QuickRoll- To perform the dodge quick roll, double jump in the air and
jump to the side. Not side dashing, jumping to the side, when you reach the
highest point in your jump, transform into the morph ball, while still holding
the joystick in the direction you jumped, if timed correctly, you will land
and roll out of harms way. This technique is particularly useful when Metroid
Prime (form one) launches an offensive and then charges you.

--------------------------------------------------

D). BOSSES
The bosses, in order you fight them…

Parasite Queen-
I won't cover this boss, because it's pretty easy and you don't and
won't need help with him or her. The Parasite Queen appears as a big bug-like
creature inside a huge tank. You encounter Parasite Queen above Talon 4, in
the space station you begin in.

Flaghra-
You encounter Flahgra in the Chozo Ruins. Flahgra appears as a large
insect-like thing sticking out of the top of a giant flower. After beating
this boss, you are awarded with the Varia Suit.

Sheegoth-
Sheegoth is encountered in the Phendrana Drifts. He is a larger version
of the baby sheegoth. You get the wave beam for beating him.

Thardus-
Thardus is encountered in the Phendrana Drifts. He looks like a bunch
of rocks connected with some sort of ultra-high powered super glue. Aside from
the fact that he is magically connected, winning, you are awarded with the
spider ball upgrade.

Omega Pirate-
You run into this baddy in the Phazon Mines. He looks like a space
pirate who's high on Phazon…actually no, but oh well. You get the Phazon Suit
for beating him.

Meta Ridley-
Here's an old friend. You run into our good pal in the Chozo Temple in
Tallon Overworld. He looks like good old Ridley, but metallic. Thus the Meta
prefix in his name

Metroid Prime-
Metroid Prime is encountered in the Impact Crater. He has two forms.
Form one requires a lot of missiles and dodging. And form two requires good
dodging, and a little bit of luck. You win the game after defeating Metroid
Prime.

E). BOSS STRATEGY

1: Flahgra
Flahgra is really easy, his attacks are easily avoidable and he doesn't take
much effort to beat. The plan of attack here is to get rid of those satellite
dish things that are putting light on him. The best way to do this is first
fire a missile or two, followed by a constant stream of power beam fire. Once
Flahgra is subdued, use the lock on to your advantage. While locked on to him,
circle around the room until you're behind the satellite dish you need to hit.
Shoot a charged shot at the red spot on the back of the dish. Once the dish is
knocked up, Flahgra will pass out temporarily. This is your chance to deal
some damage. Roll into morph ball and roll down the channels revealed when the
vines pull away, once in their, get to the end and drop a morph ball bomb.
After this, Flahgra will take some damage and this time instead of one dish
needing to be knocked down, two will appear.
Again, the best way to do this is to first subdue Flahgra. Because, if he is
away, he will knock the dishes back into place. After constantly firing upon
him, when he is subdued, hit one dish then as fast as you can, stay locked on
and dash repeatedly around the room to the next dish. This will cause the
channels to open again. Bomb the end and again, the dishes will flip into
place, but three this time. For the third time, subdue Flahgra, and then take
down the dished. If Flahgra happens to wake up when you're hitting the dishes,
immediately fire on him with missiles followed by a constant stream of power
beam. Hehe, that rhymed Anyway, repeat this process again when four dishes
appear. After Flahgra bites the bullet, you get the Varia Suit. Now you can
enter and explore the Magmoor Caverns.

3: Sheegoth
Sheegoth is a little on the tricky side, but with a little concentration, he
isn't too hard. To begin, the battle starts with you fighting a couple of baby
sheegoths. Lock on to them and sidestep repeatedly and blast at their backs.
Once you beat about four or so, the big boy appears. The first thing to know
about him is do not shoot him with your power beam. The crystals on his back
pull the shots and draw in energy for his attacks. The best thing to do is to
lock on to him and repeatedly avoid his attacks. When he charges up for an ice
breath (You'll know he does this when his neck rears back), dive to the side.
While he's breathing his ice attack in the wrong direction, let go of the lock
on and aim at the bottom side of his neck. Fire a missile at him. As soon as
the missile is off, you'll know if you hit him because he flashes red quickly
if he's damaged. After you hit him, continue using the side dash attack and
avoiding his attacks. Then, once he charges up for his powerful attack, dive
to the side and fire a missile at him like before.
Repeat this process until he's through. If you have trouble hitting his neck
with the missiles, jump to the side to aim earlier while he's still charging
up. Then, fire the missiles. Eventually, you'll kill him and be awarded with
the wave beam, and electric based weapon. Use it on the door you came through
to exit and continue the game.
Instead of doing that, you can use Greyrms's technique. The approach I use
against Sheegoth is to stay locked then walk up in front of him, which
triggers him to use his ice breath. Jump backwards and fire off two missiles,
the first just before the ice breath stops; the second as soon as possible
after the first. As soon as the ice breath stops, I close in again so when he
finishes hyperventilating,
it triggers the ice breath again. Repeat as necessary.

2: Thardus
Thardus may be the hardest boss in this game. That's my opinion on the matter.
It also may be because I hate rocks. Anywho, the plan of attack is this;
Thardus will wake up when you enter his room. Switch to thermal visor and find
the hot point on him. That's the weak point you're going after. Shoot at it
with a charged wave beam shot or if you are in close proximity, use a missile.
Thardus has several attacks. One of which being his ice beam. If he launches
one of those, side dash out of the way. He also summons up some rocks from the
ground. Destroy them a charged wave beam or a missile. After attacking his
weak point the thermal visor blanks out, switch to combat visor and now
Thardus's weak point will be a dull bluish color. Attack it the same way as
before, because the wave beam charged shot is more effective if it's got some
distance to travel. The missiles (preferably super) are good at close range
because he blocks them from a distance. Once the dull blue spot has been
destroyed, Thardus will throw his arms back and then roll into a ball. As soon
as you see him preparing to roll into a ball, turn into a ball yourself with
the morph ball and roll as far away from Thardus as possible. Don't go back
into combat mode unless A) you know for sure you are at a safe distance or B)
you know for sure that Thardus got back to his normal battle stance. Once in
his normal stance begin the same process as before, thermal visor attack,
then, attack the weak point again, then evade the roll attack and start again.
Eventually, a bunch of magical energy stuff will start shooting out of the sky
and regenerate Thardus. At that point just wait because he cannot take any
damage when that is happening. After you repeat the process over and over
(This may seem tedious but it's worth the wait) you will be awarded with the
spider ball upgrade. With that, you can climb the magnetic rail tracks and
get to hard to reach places.

3: Omega Pirate
The Omega Pirate's chamber is extremely hazardous, so take heed in where you
hop around. Two or three Phazon Pools line the perimeter of this room. Those
should be avoided. You're first priority is to get rid of his Phazon Armor.
You can do this with either super missiles or the Plasma Beam. I highly
suggest the super missile because it's much more effective. A charged Plasma
Beam, however, is also a fine alternative if you're low on missiles. Attack
his Phazon armor with super missiles when you're A) behind him with a good
vantagepoint or B) he's raising his arms from an attack. When he uses a ground
quake attack, double jump up and continue pelting him with attacks (the plasma
beam works well in this situation). When he swings at you or you feel
encroached upon by a nearby wall, roll out of there to the opposite side of
the room and continue at it. Also, thanks to the suggestion of GOGS, you can
also transform into morph ball and roll in between the legs of the Omega
Pirate, then plant a super bomb. This gets rid of all his armor, this is the
most effective method After you blast all of his armor, Mr. Omega will use yet
another one of his super powers and disappear. He will also summon two beam
troopers in the process. Here, you have another decision to make, you can A)
attack the troopers and then go for Ol' Omega or B) forget the troopers and
focus on Mr. O.
First off, It's good to know that when he disappears, you can see him when he
reappears with the x-ray visor. He will appear over the Phazon pools. As soon
as he appears, fire a super missile at him. Once you damage him, get ready
because he'll reappear again over another pool. Don't forget, when I say
reappear, you still can only see him with the x-ray visor. Every time he's
over a Phazon pool, shoot at him with a super missile. If you take too long,
he'll regenerate his armor and you will have to destroy the armor again. If
you have some time before the Omega Pirate appears, take out the beam troopers
with their appropriate beam combo attack. They will be a very large nuisance
for the length of the battle if not destroyed. They can be avoided, so stay
on your toes and don't stay still too long. If you find yourself in a
situation where you need to forget the Omega Pirate and kill the troopers, go
for it because it's better to kill them if you're getting badly damaged by
them. Eventually, after much blasting, you'll finish our big buddy off and you
will be awarded with the Phazon Suit. The Phazon Suit allows you to walk
through Phazon pools.

4: Meta Ridley
Meta Ridley is not too hard, but if you are careless, this battle can turn
into a nightmare. The first part is pretty straightforward. Attack, dodge,
attack, dodge, rinse, clean, lather, repeat, you get the idea.
He is in the air for the first part of the battle. Avoid his projectiles and
his plasma beam by side dashing. If that doesn't seem to work, try double
jumping straight up into the air, this makes it more difficult for his
missiles to get you. When he is stationary, repeatedly attack with your plasma
beam or super missiles. After both of Meta Ridley's wings are destroyed, he
will be forced to fight on the ground. He performs a series of attacks when
grounded, one, is his tail whip type attack. This one is annoying, it usually
only happens when you are at close range, so don't get too close. The other
attack he has is a charge attack. The tell tale signs for this is when he
rears his head back. After you know he's going to charge, get ready to quickly
side dash out of the way. If you are prepared, that attack will not be much of
a problem. The other attack is a plasma beam out of his mouth. When you see
his mouth starting to fill with flames, fire a charged plasma beam at it or a
super missile. This will stun Meta Ridley revealing his vulnerable stomach
area. Fire a super missile at his stomach to deal some damage. This is the way
to attack him. Once he is gonna shoot fire, hit him, revealing his stomach,
and attack that. This is very effective. Keep dodging his attacks and
attacking at the appropriate times, eventually you will beat him. Beating Meta
Ridley gains you access to a portal that leads to the impact crater. And,
guess who's waiting for you there?

5: Metroid Prime

Form 1:
Metroid Prime looks like a big spider like…thing. His first for is actually
pretty hard. I lost more life the first time through on his first form than on
the second form. You find yourself face to face with the big meanie this game
is named after. Make sure you have all missile expansions and all energy tanks
for this battle. It would also help to have at least 200 missiles on standby.
The only way to damage Metroid Prime in form 1 is to attack him with the same
beam as the color represented by his markings. So, if he is purple use the
wave beam, ice for white, plasma for red, and power for yellow. He has a
couple of attacks. His main attack is to launch a series of green missile
thingys. Jump out of the way to avoid those. He also can use a beam matching
the color he has on. And if you are too close, he will swipe at you. For his
last attack, he will launch two little balls of slow moving energy. Destroy
them with a charged shot from your beam, because they may be slow moving, but
if they hit you, the visor gets all fuzzy and you sustain a good deal of
damage from other oncoming attacks. He can also charge you; he usually does
this after you cause him to change colors. When he screeches and prepares to
charge, turn into morph ball mode and tuck yourself away in one of the grooves
in the center of the room until he passes over. Once over, keep rolling
forward and go back to combat mode. Back to the attack strategy. If he is
white, use the ice spreader on his face. He will be frozen from that, when he
is frozen, fire 1 or 2 more ice beam shots at his face, that should subdue him
and cause him to change colors again. When he is purple, use the wavebuster
from far away, just keeping electrocuting him until he yells and changes
colors again. When he is yellow, fire super missiles. Waits until he is going
to use his beam attack, when he does, double jump up in the air over the beam
and launch the super missile. One or two should do the trick. When he is red,
DO NOT use the flamethrower. It uses up precious missiles too quickly and is
hard to aim. You're best bet is to constantly dodge and repeatedly fire
charged shots followed by constant fire. This may be slower, but those
missiles aren't unlimited, so use them wisely. Don't fire at the wall or
ceiling, you need your missiles. However, when he is almost dead, feel free to
let it loose. You will not need missiles for the second form. Having 25 left
might help, though, when he calls forth his little friends. Once the first
form is dead, he will scutter off into another cavern, chase after him, and
get ready for the last battle.

Form 2:
Form 2 is pretty cool looking, maybe even scary. But don't let it intimidate
you, he's not as hard as he looks. Metroid Prime, form 2 has 2 attacks. One of
them, his powerful ground quake is easily avoidable, just double jump up in
the air as soon as you see the energy from the attack spreading from the
ground. His other attack, he lunges forward, is also avoidable, just don't
stay too close to him. Keep evading from his ground quake attacks until
eventually, he will create a Phazon pool. Go stand in it and get a look at
your blaster, YEE HAA! After he created the pool, he became invisible. First,
switch to thermal visor, if you can't see him in that, try the x-ray visor. If
you can't find him in either of those then you are stupid because he's
probably right there in combat visor. Don't forget; keep dodging the ground
quakes, when you hear the loud bang noise, jump. If you spot Metroid Prime,
stand in the Phazon pool and now with your hyper mode Phazon beam, attack.
Hold down the fire button until it stops, that means the pool has been used
up. After this, locate Metroid Prime again whether it is with the x-ray visor,
thermal visor, or combat visor. The next time he makes a Phazon pool, he will
call forth a couple of Metroids. You can easily take them out with a super
missile or by standing in the Phazon pool and giving a quick blast of Phazon
to them. Note: The Phazon beam will kill any Metroid (hunter, normal, or
fission) with one shot. Also (Thanks to Greyrms) when Metroid Prime summons
Metroids, dropping a Power Bomb usually takes all of them out.
If you decide to use the phazon to kill the metroids, don't use up too much of
it, because you'll need the majority of the Phazon to attack Metroid Prime.
Once you've located him again, pump him full o' juice. Repeat this process
until he is no more. With good timing, a cool head, and a lot of dodging, you
will win, and congratulations, you just beat the game. TA DA!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------
F.) Congratulations! By beating Metroid Prime, you get an ending. If you have
collected all the expansions and upgrades, your ending will be a lot cooler
than just normal. For beating the game, you also get the ability to wear the
fusion suit. You can only do this via the link cable to a Metroid Fusion game
pack.
