Michèle Alliot-Marie a présidé à Perpignan la cérémonie des honneurs
militaires rendus à un sous-officier de la Direction générale de la
sécurité extérieure (DGSE), tué le 21 novembre à Bassorah. Un autre a
été grièvement blessé.
Cest le premier militaire français tué en Irak depuis l'intervention
américaine en 2003. Un sous-officier de la DGSE a été tué le 21
novembre en Irak, à Bassorah, à un barrage routier. « Michèle
Alliot-Marie, ministre de la Défense, a présidé ce matin à Perpignan
la cérémonie des honneurs militaires rendus au défunt », a fait savoir
le ministère.
Il na néanmoins donné aucune indication sur les raisons de la présence
de cet agent à Bassorah et ne précise pas son identité, conformément
aux règles de fonctionnement des services de renseignement français.
Tout juste a-t-il indiqué que le sous-officier était âgé « d'une
trentaine d'années ». De source proche du ministère de la Défense, on
précise également que les deux soldats français participaient à une «
mission de protection du personnel consulaire à Bassorah » au sein
d'une « petite équipe », également chargée « de missions
traditionnelles » de renseignement.
Un agent du service Action
Selon le Point, qui a révélé linformation, la victime, un membre du
service Action de la DGSE chargé de la section de protection de la
mission diplomatique française en Irak, a été tuée par balle. Un
second agent, lui aussi membre du service Action, a été très
grièvement blessé et rapatrié en France samedi, en même temps que le
corps de son camarade. Une information confirmée par le ministèreLes
deux hommes circulaient en voiture lorsqu'ils ont été arrêtés à un
check-point, où un membre d'une milice locale a ouvert le feu sur eux,
« bien qu'ils aient excipé de leur qualité de diplomates », selon Le
Point.
Le service Action de la DGSE avait été chargé de la récupération des
journalistes français otages en Irak, Georges Malbrunot, Christian
Chesnot et Florence Aubenas.
