Écloserie de la rivière Capilano - Visite

                        Barrage dans le cours d'eau

   L'écloserie a été construite à partir d'un barrage en béton dans la
   rivière, d'une passe à poissons et d'un approvisionnement en eau qui
   existaient tous déjà. Le barrage empêche les poissons de continuer
   plus loin en amont; ils remontent donc la passe à poissons vers le
   piège de capture.

   Le piège à poisson et le barrage originaux ont été construits en 1954
   par le [22]Greater Vancouver Water District pour capturer les saumons
   et les truites arc-en-ciel adultes afin de les transporter en amont du
   barrage Cleveland. En automne, ce parc de retenue est souvent rempli
   de saumons adultes retournant.
